The experience acquired through the development, between 1995 and 1998, and the subsequent continuation up to the present of a Trans-national European Project known as “Tourism for all”–“Turismo para Todos”, together with organisations from such countries as France, Sweden, Germany, Italy and Spain has encouraged us to concentrate the information by starting up an International Portal on the internet, covering a variety of territories in Europe and Latin America, and which will make consultation easier for the user by offering a unified criterion for all these areas.
SINPROMI, firstly with the planning and creation of a specific methodology for data collection, analysis of accessibility, database software and hosting of web pages with user information, and subsequently with the extension, updating and maintenance of the places to be studied, intends to carry out actions aimed at promoting accessibility and enhancing the quality of locations of public use and enjoyment, thus encouraging access to culture and leisure for persons of limited mobility.
